Good Soil

Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. He who has ears let him hear." Matthew 13:8-9
But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown." Matthew 13:23
This “soil” received the word of God accepted it, applied it to his/her life & now his/her life starts to bear fruit. This is the person you want to be, unlike the others this one accepted Christ in the right way, applied the teachings to his/her life & now is growing as a Christian. The reason that you can tell that this person is growing is by his/her fruit. Fruit? When I first heard the words "bearing fruit", I was a new Christian. I had no idea what that meant. So, I got to studying it, I was lead to Galatians.
Take a look in Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." This "fruit" cannot be obtained without the Holy Spirit. That's why it is very easy if you check them out to uncover a phony "Christian". If the Holy Spirit is not present, then there will be no real fruit.
"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them.” Mathew 7:15-16
The fruit that we bear, will allow people to look deep into our lives. If you have truly accepted Christ & you are right with God with your life, people will be able to tell…same goes for when you are away from God, because of sin or because you never truly accepting Christ.
The way you act & live are very important, people who do not believe will notice your life, look at Acts 4:1-4 & 13
“The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.”
“They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day. But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.”
In these passages Peter & John were arrested & questioned for speaking about Jesus. When they told of Jesus to the priests & Sadducees, they were shocked at who these guys were & their level of education.
“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”
They noticed that these two Peter & John had little or no education & were just ordinary men (gives hope to an all "D" student, like myself). But it says that they "took note that these men had been with Jesus".
That leads me to my next part of this story, how do you get this fruit?
To find out how to get this fruit, go to my blog "Vine & Branches". Thanks for reading!
